Calcium-25 was developed by Dr. Andrew J. Welebir, founder and President of Bio-Gard, and was introduced to the farm and garden market in 1981. Increases in profits have consistently been observed in the field using Calcium-25, boosting marketable yields of all crops by 15% to 50%.

The ability of the product to aid in drought protection has been observed on a wider scale in the past few years, since one of the effects of Calcium-25 includes a rapid increase in growth, including root growth, shortly after application. By promoting the growth of the root system, the plant is able to more easily follow a lower water table as dry weather progresses which can lead to drought conditions, thereby saving crops that normally would have perished.

Calcium-25 consists of calcium bound to certain natural plant was compounds. Absorption of these waxes through the leaf surface at certain temperatures with the calcium attached has accounted for the unique uptake and translocation of calcium within the plant - even from leaves to roots. This results in a rapid spurt in plant growth and an increase in protein and sugar levels (BRIX) which are measurable in as little as a few days after foliar application.

Calcium-25 causes a rapid increase of all nutrients from the soil, even in calcium-rich soils, that produces a stronger, healthier crop at an early stage of plant development, leading to an increase in yield and profit. Results have been confirmed by a number of university and grower studies worldwide for over 20 years.

The product effectiveness is dependent on the spray concentration in water. Typically, a one-pound amount is diluted, with no other additives, to 100 U.S. gallons of water for almost all crops. Most plants are sprayed early in the growing season, but some benefit from multiple applications, such as alfalfa, hay, pasture, fruit trees, and some vegetables. Furthermore, Calcium-25 became an organic-approved material starting in 1990, and is presently listed with the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI), and approved for use on USDA Organic crops.

Calcium-25 is offered as 5 different products useful for all crops and plants, including field corn, soybeans, alfalfa, pasture, sorghum, small grains, wheat, rice, vegetables, ornamentals, nursery plants, landscaping, golf courses, apples, fruit trees, and even peanuts, cotton and tobacco, plus much more. Products are available from a 4 oz. small-garden size covering 1/2 acre, to a 40# pail covering up to 200-acre size areas.

Calcium-25 is a unique crop yield-enhancing product, and is composed of only naturally-occurring ingredients: calcium and certain amounts of  plant waxes that occur on the leaf surface. The combination, when applied to the leaf surface of growing plants in water solution under the right conditions, is absorbed into the leaf as a carefully balanced mixture that can be recognized by the leaf surface as being all-natural components.

As a result, the mixture is absorbed into the plant and calcium is actually translocated in the plant. This makes Calcium-25 different than any other product! This absorption causes a rapid increase in plant growth at an early stage of plant development. The stimulating effect carries over to a final increase in crop yield.
