Liquid Carbon or Humate Benefits
Concentrated 12% Liquid Carbon –
this is the strongest in North America
Increased Root Growth
A consistent result from all crops tested was increased root growth. Length, density and radius of plant roots dramatically increased. Tests have shown that root system vigor is very important to the nutrient uptake capability of plants, as well as to the plant’s ability to combat disease. In addition, plant stability is enhanced, and plants are better able to find and absorb water with a broad based root system.
Liquid Carbon or Humate Benefits
Increased Chlorophyll Content
Humic matter has been shown to increase the chlorophyll content in plants, and can prevent or correct iron chlorosis problems.
Liquid Carbon or Humate Benefits
Increased Nutrient Uptake
Humates have been shown to consistently improve the uptake of nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and iron as well as innumerable trace elements essential for plant health. This is due to the biochemically active nature of Humic acid, and its ability to form both soluble and insoluble complexes with various metals, minerals and organics. Nutrients are mobilized in forms that the plants can accept.
Liquid Carbon or Humate Benefits
Improved Plant Quality
Humates can improve the quality of fruit, vegetables and flowers by improving their physical appearance, and in the case of food crops, their nutritional value. Cereal crops have shown more balanced amino acid content, and higher protein content. All of this can enhance their worth in the marketplace.
Liquid Carbon or Humate Benefits
Enhanced Natural Defense
The biochemically active nature of Humic acid works to enhance a plant’s natural defenses against toxins and disease. Many toxins are inhibited or neutralized directly by bonding interactions with Humic Acids. In addition, biologically active compounds (such as antibiotics and phenolic acids) found in healthy humus can enhance plant resistance to some diseases. Finally, plants which are healthy and receive all their required nutrients are better able to combat disease and pests.
Liquid Carbon or Humate Benefits
Improved Soil Structure
Humus combines with clay minerals to form structural units called aggregates. These help to stabilize the soil and increase its permeability to water and gaseous exchanges. Also, life forms such as bacteria and earthworms, which are dependent on humus content, contribute a lot to the maintenance of the soil structure. The use of Humates can prevent soil cracking, which exposes roots to the air and can cause crops to burn in severe heat conditions. Since organic matter is not water soluble, soil with high humus content is less likely to be subject to water erosion.
Liquid Carbon or Humate Benefits
Improved Water Retention
Liquid Carbon or Humates can hold up to 20 times their weight in water. By enhancing the soil’s ability to retain water, Humate usage can reduce the need for crop irrigation. This can be especially helpful with sandy soils, and contributes a large measure of drought resistance to crops.

Liquid Carbon or Humate Benefits
Liquid/foliar fertilizers
The fulvic acid in the Liquid Humate helps open up the stomatas in the leaves. Next, the Liquid Humate and the fertilizer are drawn into the plant together. Once in the plant the Liquid Humate stimulates the plant to utilize the fertilizer very efficiently giving a synergic effect. In place of a 1 plus 1 the effect is more like 2 times 2 in response. Our customers have been reporting outstanding results using Liquid Humate along with their foliar feeding program. With the high price of fertilizers, foliar feeding is now being used in regular field crops such as hay crops including grasses, corn, wheat, sugar cane and soy beans, just to mention a few. Many perennial crops are gaining extra benefits of foliar feeding up to the second and third year; this is due to the increased root development.
Liquid Carbon or Humate
- Liquid Carbon or Humate is a unique concentrated Fulvic Acid extract from a natural occurring highly concentrated decomposed organic matter.
- Specialty plant growers have been using Fulvic Acid for years due to its plant growth benefits. They could afford to pay high prices for it. This is because they got high prices for their product. Now Liquid Carbon or Humate offers the same benefits at a very low cost that anyone can benefit from no matter what crops they are producing. This is due to a low cost high quality extraction process we have developed.
- Liquid Carbon contains some of the short chain humic acids which are plant active which also aid the friendly microbes in the soil.
- Fulvic Acid and Liquid Carbon are natural organic acids found in soils high in organic matter.
- Applying Liquid Carbon to soils with an organic matter higher than 5% will generally not benefit the grower. However, all plants will benefit from foliar application because much of the fulvic acid found in high organic soils never reach the above ground portion of the plant. Soil applications are generally up to 5 gallon per acre or one to two gallons on or beside the seed per acre. Foliar is generally at one quart per acre per application.
- Fulvic Acid and the short chain humic acids are natural plant growth stimulators (growth hormones) which are known to assist plants to grow more vigorously.
- Fulvic acids are known to boost the energy level of plants. It is known that high energy plants show resistance to some disease pathogens and may lower insect occurrences.
- Fulvic Acid is known to aid in the development of a greater root mass and with consequences of a healthier plant with more top growth and production potential.
- Fulvic Acid has proven that it helps plants to withstand stress. Stress can be caused by heat, cold, drought or too wet, too much shade, insect attach and some plant nutrient deficiencies.
- Fulvic Acid is known to help to improve photosynthesis-convert carbon dioxide into plant matter, which may increase the level of polysaccharides (carbon energy levels) in the plant and may lower the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
- Fulvic Acid has shown that it can be used in limited light to aid in photosynthesis at a lower light. Or to say shaded plants treated with Fulvic Acid performed better than the untreated plants in the shade. This may work with plants that may have to compete for sunlight with taller growing plants being present. We have seen this work with Coastal Bermuda grass competing for sunlight with taller growing ryegrass early in the spring. The ryegrass did not shade out the treated Coastal Bermuda grass. The Coastal Bermuda grass was able to grow where it otherwise may have been smothered out from no direct sunlight. We further observed that when the ryegrass was cut for hay, the Coastal Bermuda grass responded well without the normal setback following ryegrass production.
- Fulvic Acid is known for its chelating characteristics with other plant nutrients which help increase absorption and the utilization of them.
- Fulvic Acid is known to increase the effectiveness of herbicides by increasing the absorption of the herbicide into the plant cells. Some have found that they can decrease the amount of herbicide used and achieve better results.
- Liquid Carbon applied directly to the soils with an organic matter less then 5% will aid and benefit the friendly micro life in the soil and help make plant nutrients available.
- Liquid Humate will help increase the value of your fertilizer or the plant nutrients that are present by allowing the plant to use them more efficiently. This is very important with the high cost of fertilizer.
- When foliar applying Liquid Carbon mix in a balanced water soluble fertilizer along with the Liquid Humate. This enhances the effect of the Liquid Humate because it gives the plant the needed nutrients at the very point and time of the most occurring stimulation from the Carbon allowing the plant to take greater and faster advantage of the Liquid Carbon. This really gives the plant a great, fast boost.
- Treated plants rebound from stress faster. This is seen in hay that has been treated with Liquid Humate. After harvesting, re-growth of the new hay has been up to ten days quicker. This increases production potential during a fixed growing period, allowing more cuttings per season.
- Liquid Carbon is a high quality product which has been developed and manufactured with a lower cost which we pass on to our customers to make them more profitable. We believe if our customers make more profit, they will do more business with us. We both benefit.
- At today’s high fertilizer prices, other Humate products are selling at an accelerated price, as their demand has gone up. We have controlled our costs and resisted the temptation to raise the prices other than to recover the extra fuel charges and a few increased ingredient costs. We will not gouge the market just because the others do. The increased demand for our product has increased profits well enough. Our goal is to keep you in business and to do business with you next year and the years thereafter.
Always check to insure that the liquid is not beading up on the plant leafs while doing foliar application. If the liquid is beading up, it is a sign that the water in the tank mix needs to act wetter. Adding a surfactant will help solve this problem. Also, adjusting the tank mix pH to around 5.8 to 6.0 will increase the absorption of the liquid.
As in any plant growth program, your results may vary depending upon the growing conditions, nutrient availability and other circumstances beyond our control. Many producers have found that Liquid Carbon or Hamate is a management tool that has saved money and/or increased profits. We suggest that you first follow our basic guidelines and then adjust your needs to your conditions. Many producers have increased our recommendation and have claimed even better results and profits. Best yet, get advice from a good soil specialist or plant specialist.
Our basic four point recommendation:
- Provide the needed plant nutrients including proper soil pH.
- Develop a good soil structure by managing compaction and not allowing the soil to get too loose allowing too much oxygen in the soil to oxidize the carbon in the organic matter into carbon dioxide at too fast of a rate.
- Develop and maintain a good friendly micro life in the soil.
- Strive to develop high levels of organic matter in the soil of at least 5 % and aim for 10%.
Using Liquid Carbon or Humate is a management tool that many have developed to aid or assist in their management program to achieve part of or all of the above for more profitable production. We suggest that you work with your local soil specialist to outline a program just for you and your needs. We will be glad to visit with your soil or plant specialist and to assist if we can to make the best recommendations for you.
Liquid Carbon or Humates
Liquid Carbon or Humate was developed for foliar feeding and seed treatment. The general rate per acre is from 1 to 2 gallons. It contains all the fulvic extractions plus some of the plant active Humic extractions as well. Excellent results occur when applied to early new growth. Liquid Humate stimulates root development followed by more vigorous plant growth. When Liquid Carbon is mixed at the rate of ½ to 2 gallons per 20 gallon in a tank mix, the response of other ingredients in the foliar application is improved. Many have found that they can cut the application rates back on herbicides by 30%. Liquid Carbon is my top selling product. Liquid Carbon is available in 265 gallon totes.
